Why Patients Trust Dr. Bauer
- Bruce D. Bauer, MD provides exclusively medical dermatology care, with a focus on skin cancer and complex medical dermatology concerns — a deliberately narrow practice that keeps his attention on the difficult cases.
- He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his dermatology residency at Marshfield Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident.
- Before medicine he spent several years teaching middle and high school science in California — experience that shows in how clearly he explains a complex diagnosis — and he later served as community faculty at EVMS.
- His published work and presentations cover sunscreen safety, seborrheic dermatitis, dermatology residency training, and monitoring for side effects in patients on high-risk medications, including noninvasive liver fibrosis assessment.
- He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and returned to the West Coast after 20 years on the East Coast to be closer to family.
